Jared Westergard

Managing Partner


Jared Westergard is the Managing Partner and Founder of Sonoran Business Advisors. Prior to founding Sonoran, Jared was the CFO for Hype Pharm, a management group with ownership of various related home service entities, including Green Mango Pest Control, Coconut Cleaning, Agave Auto, and Phoenix Power. Jared began his professional career after graduating from Arizona State University with a local CPA firm, Schmidt Westergard & Company, with a focus in audits and financial statement consulting. Jared oversaw numerous engagements in his 10+ years at Schmidt Westergard & Co. across multiple industries. Jared has been involved in a number of not-for-profits including Mesa United Way, Helen’s Hope Chest, and Alta Mesa Country Club of which he currently presides as treasurer on the Board of Directors.

Select Engagement Highlights

  • Green Mango Pest Control – Chief Financial Officer for a large pest control company servicing over 30,000 customers. Established reporting protocols, worked to improve financial performance, assisted in negotiations with financial institutions and secured upwards of $10 Million of financial capital for operations and future expansion of the company.
  • Sunland Home Care & Medical – Remote CFO for an in-home senior care company based in Mesa, AZ. Jared’s responsibilities included management and oversight of financial operations, accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, implementation of internal controls and processes, training of staff and acting liaison with the companies CPA and financial institutions.
  • ABP Electrical, Inc. – Virtual CFO for one of Arizona’s leading providers in solar electrical services. Worked with management in helping to oversee and assure that their financial performance was in line with their objectives and strategies as a result of their recent growth.  
  • Education and Professional Designations - B.S. in Business Management and Accounting from Arizona State University.

Matt Foster

Managing Director


Matt Foster is a Managing Director and partner of Sonoran Business Advisors. Prior to founding Sonoran, Matt worked as a Director for the international insolvency firm, KRYS Global. Prior to that Matt worked for another restructuring boutique firm, Odyssey Capital Group. Matt began his finance career in private equity working for Citizens Capital, Inc. (“CCI”), the private equity arm of RBS Citizens Bank. Matt oversaw CCI’s interests in its private equity portfolio consisting of investments in over a dozen private companies. Since that time, Matt has been involved in a wide range of restructuring engagements including out-of-court restructurings, Chapter 11 restructurings, litigation support, and solvency. Matt has served in multiple CFO, CRO, financial advisor, and investment banking positions across various industries.

Select Engagement Highlights

  • Suntree – Interim CFO for a distressed snack food manufacturing private equity portfolio company. Established reporting protocols, worked to improve financial performance, assisted in negotiations with secured creditors, and oversaw transition to long term management team.
  • KTS Transportation – Interim CFO and CRO for refrigerated trucking company based on Salt Lake City, UT. Matt implemented cost savings measures that included (i) reduction in headcount, (ii) early return of excess tractors, and (iii) rent abatement on all tractors and trailers that resulted in a new working capital line from existing secured creditor.
  • Seaborne Airlines – Chief Restructuring Officer for private equity owned regional airline based in San Juan, Puerto Rico that filed Chapter 11 in Delaware. Responsibilities included management/oversight of financial operations, bankruptcy filings, § 363 sale, and interactions DIP lender and other creditors.
  • Education and Professional Designations - B.A.in Finance from University of Utah; M.B.A.from Northeastern University.

Bryan Perkinson

Managing Director


Bryan Perkinson is a Managing Director and partner of Sonoran Business Advisors. Prior to founding Sonoran, Bryan worked as a director for the international insolvency firm, KRYS Global. Prior to that, Bryan worked for another advisory firm, Odyssey Capital Group. Bryan is an attorney and restructuring advisor that has experience in both financial restructurings as well as complex litigations. Bryan has been involved in multiple billion-dollar litigations involving intellectual property, fraud, and fraudulent transfer issues. Bryan has experience advising debtors, secured creditors, and unsecured creditors committees in both in and out-of-court restructurings as financial advisor, CRO, trustee, receiver, and investment banker.

  • Attis Trading – Bryan currently serves as financial advisor and CRO for an integrated Cannabis company based in Oregon.
  • Inca Refining – Bryan recently served as liquidating trustee of a defunct sweet crude oil refinery project in St. James Parish, LA. Bryan was hired as CRO and tasked with taking the company through bankruptcy, confirming a plan, and liquidating assets. Bryan recently sold a large asset to a Taiwanese multinational corporation for significantly more than was anticipated.
  • Array Photonics – Bryan recently served in a financial advisory and interim management role for a semi-conductor manufacturing and development company owned by a large Saudi sovereign investor and based in Tempe, AZ. Bryan oversaw the wind down of all company operations and the sale of certain assets. Bryan continues to assist in litigation and asset liquidation role.
  • Education and Professional Designations - B.A. from Utah State University; J.D., M.B.A. from Arizona State University, and member of the Arizona Bar.

Mark Byars

Managing Director


Mark Byars is a Managing Director at Sonoran Business Advisors. In the past, Mark has worked as CFO/controller/VP of Finance for a number of different private companies including Paramount Building Solutions, Peekay, Inc., Grayhawk Produce Sales, Primetime International, and Enlisten Corporation. Mark is experienced in distressed situations, litigation and bankruptcy processes and has advised companies in a number of different industries during and after restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcies. Mark is a registered CPA in Arizona and is also certified in government contracts and accounting.

  • Attis Trading - Mark recently served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer for this integrated cannabis company and was responsible for leading all financial modeling, reporting, investor relations and restructuring activities.
  • Array Photonics – Mark served in a financial advisory and interim management role for a semi-conductor manufacturing and development company based in Tempe, AZ. Mark managed the wind down of all company operations, reduction in workforce activities, negotiated with vendors and suppliers to reduce accounts payable, provided timely management reports and provided litigation support to corporate counsel.
  • Paramount Building Solutions – Mark was responsible for all accounting and administrative functions at this national building services company following Chapter 11 reorganization, including financial reporting, banking relationships, US Trustee reporting, ABL line, operational budgeting, cash flow planning, market analysis, and staff management.
  • Grayhawk Produce Sales - Directly managed all facets of the organization including purchasing, operations and accounting. Mark implemented new processes and procedures for sustainable improvements throughout the business.
